Happy Year of the Dragon, dearest Brute Squad! ❤️🐉❤️ And happy Daylight Saving time for most of us in the US! 😑
I’m still talking to Sarah multiple times a day. Here is how that conversation usually goes:
Alethea: Everything is going to be late again. Why did I think I could do all of this? Every five-minute job takes like three days, and I’m dropping balls everywhere.
Sarah: Girl, everything IS getting done! And the books are gorgeous! No one cares what’s late. Any dropped balls are things that would have been nice perks, but they’re not essential. You are essential. You are doing just fine. Everything is going to be fine. It still feels like a lot because we are on month 2 of 48. We planned all of this. So stop freaking out and give yourself some grace. Got it?
Sarah makes one hell of a motivational speaker. I love her to pieces. And I make sure to tell her that every day.
I also love you, my precious Brute Squad. Thank you all for being my friends. Thank you for forgiving me when things aren’t perfect. Thank you for reminding me of the beauty I’m putting out into the world. Thank you for boosting my spirits, every day, just by being you.
And if any of you happen to also be going through turbulent times right now, please remember to take care of you. Give yourself some grace. I will if you will. Deal?
Now let’s see if I can make that IG Live actually happen later today…
Love you all so very much!

K-Dramas I’ve Watched Since Last Time
Be sure to come to my Lives & chat with your Coffee Princess about these any any other K-dramas! (see most recent calendar graphic for details) 🌸☕️🌸
I did a rewatch of Hospital Playlist (and something else? I can’t remember) during my breaks while drowning in work on the Woodcutters. HP is still so good. You can read my thoughts here — I watched it in April 2023, between episodes of Peak Time (aka The Show That Changed My Life). And now I kind of want to rewatch Peak Time.
Crash Course in Romance - (Netflix) Jung Kyung-ho (speaking of Hospital Playlist…) is a star/celebrity math teacher. Jeon Do-yeon runs a little shop that sells amazing side dishes. She also takes care of her autistic older brother and her abandoned teen niece she treats like her own daughter. You will recognize almost everyone in the supporting cast. This is a sweet drama, mostly about gossip and school/test/family pressures, but there’s also a serial killer subplot that the writers seem to remember every so often so keep the storyline going when it lags. I wish I liked this one more.
Marry My Husband - (Amazon Prime) Ignore the title, y’all. This. Drama. Is. Brilliant. I mean, Park Min Young doesn’t pick duds…but this script. WOW! Now, how much do I reveal in this summary? Okay. In Episode 1, our heroine, as a result of being overworked, is dying from stomach cancer. Her worthless husband won’t pay the hospital bill for her treatment. She goes home to find him in bed with her best friend. They kill her for the insurance money. (!!!) BUT THEN…our heroine wakes up and it’s 10 years earlier. What choices will she make this time around? What would YOU do if you knew exactly which people in your life were the toxic ones?
Personal Taste - (Viki) Another rewatch of a favorite while I was working, starring two of my favorite actors. Son Ye-jin is a furniture designer and giant slob…but she’s also the daughter of a famous (but absent) architect, and she lives in an equally famous house. Neat and fashionable Lee Minho is also an architect, and he’s desperate to snag a prime contract. In order to do so, he rents a room in the furniture designer’s famous house…and when she assumes he’s gay, he doesn’t correct her. They go on to become best friends. But he starts to fall for her…life gets more complicated…and the truth has to come out sometime! I do love this one. It’s dated, like Coffee Prince, but I think the basic message still stands up pretty well.
