Sneak Peek: "Blood & Water" Concept Art

Look closely...

My heart wanted "The Glass Mountain" to be the next Tale of Arilland in line for worldwide reprint and translation, but I had to consider other factors like word count, etc ("The Glass Mountain" and "The Dust Wish" are both reeeeally long). So I reframed the question and asked myself, which short stories would be best for folks to read before THIEFTESS comes out? That question had a much easier answer: both "Blood & Water and "Hero Worship" came immediately to mind.

"Blood & Water" is slightly longer but "Hero Worship" is crazy short, so I asked Helga and Maria if they wouldn't mind translating them both for one flat price. Not only did they say yes, but they've already turned in the translated manuscripts, so we will be able to launch each story simultaneously in German and Italian!

When I received a text with this image from Cait, I squinted at my phone and wondered what the heck she was thinking. It looked like a plain dark square with my name on it and a very muddy title. Knowing there had to be more, I turned out the light and blew up the image on my phone…and I screamed.
